Palin Outraged at Fox's Family Guy But Not Outraged Enough to Stop Cashing Fox News' Checks

Palin, via her daughter Bristol, expressed her "outrage" at the Fox network's Family Guy episode that mocked those with Down syndrome.

Who does Palin work for now? Oh, that's right, Fox News. I guess her outrage only translates to complaining about Family Guy. She's not actually going to take a stand and quit the company that pays Seth McFarlane to make Family Guy. So she'll quit being governor of Alaska when the going got tough but, she'll only express supposedly righteous indignation about a company that makes light of her child's disability and still take that same company's money? Hypocrite.

definition of hypocrite:

1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion

2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

Fcuk Fox News

Fox New cut off the question and answer between the President Obama and the Republican House Caucus' retreat.

They just decided to cut it off. In the middle of the day. There was nothing else going on. How are the a new station again? My brain now hurts when "Fox" and "news" is used in the same sentence. As far as I'm concerned Fox is good for Sunday night animated comedies (see Simpsons, Family Guy).

How does the magical, weird, purple sky colored world of TV math work in the magical, weird world of Fox? I have an idea. As follows:

Homer Simpson (is greater than) > Bill O'Reilly
Marge Simpson (is greater than) > Glenn Beck
Bart Simpson is > Sean Hannity
Lisa Simpson > Great Van Sustreren
Maggie Simpson > Rupert Murdoch's soul

Just my thoughts.

50 Best/Worst Protest Signs of 2009

Here's a link to at least what one person believes to be the "50 best protest signs of 2009." I say they're probably the 50 best/worst protest signs depending on where you land on the political spectrum. For example, are you an intolerant, gay bashing, xenophobic conspiracy theorist or are you not?

Below are a few of my favorites.

And honk for a dictionary.

All of Asia? What about Asia Minor? What about Asian youths in America? What about youths in general?

Yes Fox News, thank you for keeping them "infromed" with fax and enformashun that is fare and balansed.

Greatest Hits From Comments Sections

The below are comments to various FoxNews.com articles which were forwarded to me by a friend.

the comment: "Obama warning us about spending is like a drunk at AAA." (thoughts: triple A as in the car service company? I think they probably meant AA-Alcoholics Anonymous. But, shouldn't a drunk be at an AA meeting? So now my head really hurts.)

the comment: "He's gearing up for the campaign trail to help try saving the Dems Congress
jobs next year. Time to talk moderate again to woe the Independents back. I hope they're not that stupid." (thoughts: woe?  oh those poor independents.  maybe he/she means woo.)

the comment: "I hope all the Dems are happy now that this EMPTY SUITE, destroying the greatest country on earth. After all, the Dems are very ignorance and incompetent. 2010 coming." (thoughts: they are very "ignorance" I tell you. 2010 coming. And Hulk smash. Plus, there are plenty of empty suites, probably because they're hanging in the closets of all the people who used to wear them to work but are now unemployed, in their PJ's, on the couch, watching TV, scouring the internet for a job. When did the recession start again? Who spent money on 2 wars like a drunken sailor on leave?)

I'm an equal opportunity critic and will gladly post funny, nonsense comments to articles from other sites like MSNBC's or Politico.com's. And yes, I know I have typos too. But, the above is still fun/funny.

Those (Fox News) In Glass Houses...

...those in glass houses, like Fox News, maybe, just maybe, shouldn't throw stones. Or if they are going to throw stones maybe, just maybe, they shouldn't act surprised when stones are lobbed back in their direction. In case you haven't heard Fox News appears to be confused as to why the White House has been critical of their organization.

FOX News Is #1 In Cable News! (But What Does That Mean?)

Fox News has all the top 10 viewed cable news shows in the 2nd quarter of this year. But, if you look at the numbers this dominance is not all that dominating and probably doesn't worry too many Dems. Just take Fox News' most viewed show, believe it or not, the O'Reilly Factor. It draws about 3.2 million viewers per show. Here's why I don't think that's a significant number:

1) Those viewers probably don't change much, meaning, I would bet that mostly the same 3.2 million viewers tune in night in and night out. And I bet a lot of those viewers watch all the Fox News shows back to back to back. Just a guess.

2) I would guess that it's an older, conservative crowd watching Fox News. I know, I'm really going out on a limb there. That's just me, making wild, crazy assertions like that.

3) I think younger folks (and by that I mean under 45) get their news from a wide variety of sources and aren't married to just one news source. I would bet that many Fox News viewers only watch Fox News and go to Fox News online, if they're online at all. Why? Remember the media, according to many a conservative, is all liberal except for Fox News, which gives a "fair and balanced" news report.

4) The numbers have spiked recently for Fox News, probably because many ultra-conservatives are fearful that Obama's election signaled the beginning of the "end times" and they wanted to know where to go to be saved, so where else would they turn to but Fox News. Seriously though, I think the spike could possibly be explained by Obama's election in that it galvanized a passionate, albeit small, segment of the population that see his election as, at the very least, a very bad thing.

5) That's right I said small segment of the population. Even O'Reilly, their most viewed talking head, only gets about 3.2 million viewers. It's all about perspective. There are well over 300 million people in the USA today and that number is growing. O'Reilly draws about 1% of the population a night. 1%! And guess what? The USA's population is not growing because there are more and more old, conservative white people. What are the other 99% watching? What do they think about Obama? Or politics in general? Do they think about politics at all or only when there's a presidential election? The other 99% are probably watching CSI or American Idol. Or here's a crazy thought, they may not even be watching TV at all. I know weird but, there are people like that.

And hey, Jon Stewart gets about 2 million viewers a night, so that seems to fairly balance out Fox News' numbers a bit.
